But then, you suddenly become aware that it's not really hilarious. It's just plain horrifyingly awful. And the laughter you felt morphs into a sigh.
In the end, you are left with a sense of utter perplexity. You wonder about the purpose of it all. Was this a joke?
Or were we just all part of a grand, cosmic prank?
A Disaster of Epic Proportions
The earthquake struck without warning, ravaging entire towns in its sweep. Buildings collapsed like house of cards, and the roar that ensued was deafening. Thousands were left beneath debris, their fate unknown. The magnitude of the disaster was unprecedented, forcing survivors to face a future forever changed.
Rescue operations sprang into action, fighting against time and treacherous conditions to find those still alive. The nations watched in horror as the full devastating power of the disaster became apparent, offering prayers to the stricken population.
Worst Day Ever
It all started with a case of bedhead hair. I couldn't figure it to look right. As I was running out the door, I trippedover and badly all over myself. To make matters worse, I was completely running behind for a very important appointment.

The rest of the day was just as bad. Everything. I stay awake.
By the time I got home, I was physically and emotionally wiped out. This day, this atrocious day will be forever remembered as a true disaster.

It all started out terribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
